ABOUT THE LAWSUIT
We have filed a lawsuit on behalf
of U.S-born children who are being separated from
their families and left behind by current
immigration policy. Each year thousands of
immigrants are deported for staying undocumented in
the United States and each deportation leaves a
trail of suffering and economic instability -
especially for the American/U.S.-born children of
undocumented parents. The beauty of their childhood
is broken when immigration officials and local
police break into the tranquility of their homes and
they are forced to see their parents leave with
handcuffs, first on their way to jail, and later on
to be deported. This situation is hampering the
future of America’s most vulnerable citizens and
it’s ultimately hurting this nation more than
anything else.
We are asking the U.S. government to protect the
rights of its own citizens and allow them the right
to have a family here- in their own country- as any
other citizen would.
We want to make it clear that we cannot take under
the lawsuit any children whose parents have any sort
of criminal record here in the United States or in
their native country. We are advocating for the
rights of these young citizens as well as for the
safety of this great nation and for a better future.
